Cuba Update 2024

Our national news recently covered the power outage in Cuba. The power gird in Cuba is over 50 years old and has never been updated. Experts have warned that the entire grid would fail…and it did. While rolling power outages have been ongoing for several years, a total blackout occurred across the entire island. The outage has affected water pumping systems. The drinking water coming into homes is undrinkable and unusable for anything. The power outage further threatens  already scarce food supplies. The circumstances in Cuba are dire.

Word of Joy is partnering with other ministries to provide water filtration systems for homes, medicine, food, and other needed supplies. Interestingly, even in the disparaging circumstances, women continue to circulate copies of Mujeres de Gracia, and Mujeres de Esperanza…and they are asking for additional copies. The gospel is still the greatest need, and Word of Joy is working to bring the gospel along with humanitarian aid. Thank you for continuing to help the people of Cuba.
